In my Junior-level Package Design course, I was to take a featured article and design it’s concept and purpose into a featured magazine with only 3 spreads available. I was to also propose a professional cover to go along with the magazine feature. The challenge was to fit all of the type, pull quotes, and illustrations into the three spreads just about perfectly. I used multiple sources of knowledge and components including illustration, typography setting, proper use of an InDesign file and conceptual ideas. My chosen article was called “Our Material World”, where the author talks about the many materialistic things that we have in our everyday life, how they’re created, and ways they’re affecting our earth.
